All Ability Cycles

Bike Art operates a small range of all ability bicycles and other equipment, enabling those who are unable to ride a normal bicycle to participate and enjoy the Thetford forest. The equipment was purchased with the help of Friends of Thetford Forest Park. We also have conventional Tandems, Trailer Bikes and Trailers available from our bicycle hire fleet.

We have summarised the equipment we currently have available below, together with brief information on suitability for users and trails. We would recommend calling us on to reserve equipment when planning a visit as we have only small numbers of machines available.

Machine:  Van Raam O-Pair Small
Description:  Tricycle with additional seat for passive passenger
Age Range:  5 to 15 year old passenger.  Adult rider pedals.
Trails:  Suitable for all-ability and family cycle trails.

Other Information:  This machine is fitted with a smaller seat including adjustable side supports, shoulder straps and head support.

Machine:  Van Raam O-Pair Large
Description:  Tricycle with additional seat for passive passenger
Age Range:  Teenagers and adults. Adult rider pedals.
Trails:  Suitable for all-ability and family cycle trails.

Other Information:  This machine is fitted with a broader seat with a lap strap only

Machine:  Pashley Tri-1
Description:  Conventional tricycle suitable for rider with some balance and control.
Age Range:  Young teen to adult.
Trails:  Suitable for all-ability and family cycle trails.
Number:  2 machines, one with gears one fixed single speed.

Description:  Semi-recumbent tricycle with back support giving greater comfort and minimal balance requirement.
Age Range:  teen to adult.
Trails:  Suitable for all-ability and family cycle trails.

Machine:  Van Raam Velo Plus
Description:  Tricycle with platform for wheelchair.
Age Range:  Any age wheelchair user. Adult rider pedals.
Trails:  Suitable for all ability trail and paved surfaces.

Other Information:  Suitable for most wheelchairs which are held in place with retaining straps. Additional lap strap seat belt also provided.

Machine:  Van Raam Twinny Plus
Description:  Tandem tricycle with rear control. Some balance required.
Age Range:  Young teen to adult. Adult also pedals.
Trails:  Suitable for all ability trail and paved surfaces.
Number:  1 Only
Other Information:  Stearing from rear giving the opportunity to maximise sensory inputs to partially sighted.

Machine:  Supa Active Cart
Description:  Single speed quad with back support.
Age Range:  Teenage to young adult.
Trails:  All terrain capability. Best on all ability and family cycle trails.
Number:  3 machines, sizes vary.
Other Information:  Walking pace machine with single gear. Best used with pedestrian supervision.
